The United Arab Emirates is home to almost all fabulous creations from the modern automotive world. One can spot everything there, be it a sensible saloon body on top of a monster truck skeleton or a shimmery gold supercar capable of jiggling the internal organs with massive G-forces. Yet, amidst the craziness, there’s another type of car enthusiast who, money no bar, wants luxury, comfort, lunacy and performance in a near-perfect blend. In other words – a Bugatti owner.
To appreciate the support of such ultra-wealthy people, Bugatti and Al Habtoor Motors – the brand’s official partner in the region – recently hosted the second annual UAE Bugatti Owners Drive. Eleven beauties participated in this event that took them from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, covering a distance of 150km.
So, what was in the multi-million-dollar convoy? Start counting – four Chiron, two Chiron Pur Sport and one each of Chiron Sport, Veyron, Veyron Grand Sport, Chiron Super Sport and Veyron Sport Vitesse. The eleven beauties shared 176 cylinders amongst them and an average power output of well over 1,000bhp. Now those are the kind of specs you just don’t get in any ordinary collection of cars.
The drive started from Hotel Habtoor and ended at The Emirates Palace Hotel. The latter exudes royalty – a perfect spot then for those Bugatti owners. The main highlight is a private marina overlooking a natural bay and Qasr Al Watan – the Presidential Palace of the UAE.
The UAE has been a strong market for Bugatti ever since its revival back in 2005. So, to rejoice in the fifteen-year-long relationship and the 50th UAE National Day celebrations, the French carmaker dished out a unique Chiron donning the UAE’s national colours – black, red, green and white.
