Races are always exciting, thrilling, sometimes even dangerous, but primarily edge-of-your-seat fun. Have you heard about a beautiful race? Or rather, the most beautiful race in the world? The Mille Miglia, renowned for being the same, is an open-road race conceived in 1926 with a route of 1000 miles, hosting the most beautiful and historic cars driving down the most scenic roads of Italian riviera.
To commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the United Arab Emirates’ formation, the Mille Miglia organisers and Octanium Experiences LLC have decided to bring the same race experience to the UAE. Hence, the first-ever 1000 Miglia Experience UAE Jubilee Edition has been announced somewhere between the fourth quarter of 2022. It is also the first-ever Mille Miglia race to be held outside of Italy.
A maximum convoy of 100 well-maintained classic and vintage cars from various parts of the globe would converge in the UAE. The participating vehicles will get divided into three categories, namely - 1000 Miglia Registry Class, UAE Jubilee Class and the Contemporary Icons.
Cars manufactured between 1927-57 with the experience of running in the original Mille Miglia race in Italy, at least once, can classify in the Registry Class. The Jubilee Class constitutes FIVA verified models manufactured up to 1971, while the Contemporary Class would see historic automobiles with production dates ending upwards of 1971. The owners of these vintage relics cum participants would constitute VIP personnel from their respective fields of art, business or sport, prepped up to take the trial of their vehicle’s endurance at this invite-only event.
Before the world’s most beautiful race commences its UAE leg in Q4 of 2022, a Prologue event is set to take place in February 2022. Consider it a teaser event where both participants and the public understand what to expect at the full-blown 1000 Miglia UAE Experience.
The 1000 Miglia Experience UAE Jubilee Edition kicks off from the iconic EXPO Exhibition in Dubai - a first-ever classic car race to do so. Touring this entire 1000-mile journey can’t be expected to be completed at a single stretch, considering the age of most participating cars. Hence, the classic car race has been broken down into five legs stretched across five days. The proposed route commences from the Expo Exhibition Center with a grand finish at the home of UAE motorsport - the Yas Marina Circuit.
Further details on the entire route breakdown along with February’s Prologue event are expected to be announced soon. There are good chances for the event organisers to line up a display stand of all participating cars a day before the race to provide a treat to the general public’s eyes and hearts.
